Cygnet Swan

by SimplyScene

One of my favourite swan images.

cygnet swan

This closeup portrait of a cygnet swan from my collection of swan images includes some subtle brown tones.

This unusual composition will convey a sense of calm in any location, and its gentle colouring should blend well with many themes of decor.

Hi Everyone

by Dave Hodges

My name is Dave Hodges, I would like to thank Loxly Gallery for the opportunity to display some of my images, mostly they are photographs taken with Fuji digital SLR cameras, a few however have been modified or digitally enhanced to achieve a particular artistic effect.

My photographic interests are wide and varied, I will in fact take pictures of almost anything if I have a camera to hand. Most of my photography is of the landscape variety and often includes images of ancient stone circles, historic cathedrals or churches or just an image that has caught my eye whilst out walking throughout the UK. Being located in central England it allows me to visit locations as diverse as the rugged coastline of Cornwall, the valleys and ancient rock formations of the Peak district in Derbyshire or to the often bleak landscape of the North Yorkshire moors. In addition to these more accessible locations I also like to explore Wales and Scotland when time and the weather permits.

Recently I have began to broaden my photographic interests and have taken on the challenge of motor sports and aircraft photography and hope, in time, to display some of these images in addition to my more usual material. During inclement weather, if I am not able to capture the drama that nature provides us with I can often be found to be concentrating my efforts on making close-up or macro images of plants and flowers.

When visiting Loxly Galleries please drop in and check out for updates and new images on my page.

All of my images listed in the ‘Art Category’ are ‘Digitally Painted’ or have a digitally painted effect applied to them.

The images when viewed on screen at the Loxly Gallery do not always show the desired effect at the available viewable resolution. In order to give a clearer picture, I am including samples from four of my images here to display the effect at a close up resolution of 100%.

The digital painting effects are obtained using a mixture several software packages and various image manipulation techniques together with tools such as a graphics tablets and scanners. All finished images are developed from original photographs taken by myself.

Hi! I’m CRS (Cassandra Rene Schilliger). I was born Sep. ’79 in Point Loma, CA (right next to Ocean Beach in San Diego).

I’ve lived in quite a few places but mostly in San Diego county. Started out in Ocean Beach, moved to Idylwild and then down the mountain to Hemet… went from there to Oak Park, to La Mesa and up to Vista… I’ve lived in North Park and a short while in National City… I also went to Florida for a short period of time (if you can consider Pensacola part of FL. hehe) and now I’m living in Oceanside

I dabble in websites, affiliate sales and online shops but my “real job” is building display ads for The Village News (Fallbrook/Bonsall) and Valley News (Temecula/Murrieta valley).
I take pictures of things (current camera is a Canon PowerShot A640), paint sometimes and doodle a bit also but I don’t really call myself an artist. I’m a defective dabbler, thats just something I made up right now, I’m a defective dabbler because I do make sales of my “art”. hehe

I have turtles, fish, a Leopard Gecko, a dart frog and freshwater aquarium shrimp! I’ve had many reptile pets in the past few years and I really prefer them, fish and aquatic things like fiddler crabs.

Also, I’m a total music addict :)

Nice to meet’cha!

I’m very happy to be one of the artists with the opporunity to display my works for sale at Loxly Gallery! Being an artist-of-many-trades, I create watercolor and acrylic paintings, draw, do Celtic knotwork and spiral art, and photography as well.

Mute Swan

Mute Swan

Mute Swan

Digital painting effect of a mute swan. Pictured in profile with water droplets on head and neck.
This particular image is from a photograph which was taken at a local wildlife reserve. The swan has just emerged from dipping its head under the water whist searching for food and the droplets of moisture are reflecting in the light. I quite like the way that water is dripping from the end of the swans bill.

An enlarged portion of the image is below to demonstrate the digital painting effect.

Thanks for looking.

Hello art lovers! My name is Mark Kryzaniak, and I am pleased to be a part of Loxly Gallery.

I’m a photographer and digital artist who is deeply inspired by nature’s magnificence. Awe and wonderment are God’s gift to us, if we only take a moment to focus on the beauty that surrounds us.

My goal is to accentuate that beauty and share it with all of you.

Over time, my work has progressed from traditional photography to a more creative and uninhibited form of digital art. My images may begin life in my camera, but they are allowed to grow and flourish in my digital darkroom.

I use a variety of techniques to transform reality into something a bit more magical. For example, a lot of my artworks are painted with brushstrokes, layered, blended, etc. – to render something a bit out of the ordinary.

I hope you will find them to be truly unique and intriguing.

I welcome your comments. Your input is invaluable, as we strive to make this an exciting, interactive community: One not merely comprised of artists and photographers – but you, the art lover, as well.

Please enjoy my art!

A little information of the local area follows:
Winterton-on-sea is an old fishing village on the east coast of England some 8 miles north of the popular holiday resort town of Great Yarmouth.
The dunes skirting the village are a designated nature reserve area and popular with bird watchers and also offers walkers some lovely views.
The Church of Holy Trinity & All Saints, has its origins around the 1500′s and its tower, at 125 feet high is one of the tallest in the county of Norfolk.

If any readers or visitors to this site have been to Winterton-on-sea and would like to comment or suggest other images from the area that they would like to see, then your views are most welcome.

Hello all.

First off, I wanted to thank Loxly for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this blog, as well as present my photography here.  It’s a pleasure to be surrounded by such talented artists.  It’s also humbling on many levels.

My photography essentially surrounds my fishing trips.  And before that begins to sound like there’s going to be a lot of fish pictures here, au contraire… :)

I tend to spend more of my fishing time looking around at the nature that surrounds me, as well as other interesting elements that catch my eye.  Rest assured, however, that my fly rod and kayak are probably somewhere nearby.

Currently, I’m shooting using a Panasonic DMC-LZ5, but I’m also in the market for a decent underwater camera.  A lot goes on in the water you drive by or over everyday, and long term, I hope to capture a lot of it.

So look for more images from me soon, and please enjoy.

Hello from Colin

by SimplyScene

Hello everybody, and welcome. My name is Colin Bailey and it gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to present my images here at Loxly Gallery.

Most of my images are of the photographic variety, however you may find a few which have been “digitally enhanced” using various computer software and aided by my trusty graphics tablet.

When the mood takes me, or the weather is unfavourable for photography, you may find me producing computer generated images, a couple of which are represented here at the Loxly Gallery.

By far the largest proportion of my photography however, is of the landscape genre, closely followed by my fascination for the drama provided by historical buildings and locations such as churches and castles. I have recently extended my interest to include subjects representing the colour and history of the English canal system and I hope to have many more images appearing here over time covering all genres.

There is often a story which surrounds the making of a particular image and I hope to present here, not just the images themselves, but where there is a story to be told, I will try to include that also.

So please do bookmark this site and be sure to check back regularly for updates and new images.

Now, since Loxly Gallery is a US based site and I am a UK based photographer I am keen to learn of the genre of images from the UK that are popular with you Americans. I would be most pleased if you would educate me to your tastes in images from England, Wales, and Scotland so that I may provide Loxly Gallery with appropriate images for your enjoyment and satisfaction. Please use the facility here to leave a comment with your thoughts and ideas.

Oh yes, for the more curious amongst you, often I am asked, “are you related to David Bailey, famous photographer and film maker?” Well, the answer to that sadly, is no. (Not that I’m aware of anyhow)

Thank you,
Colin.
